TRAINING STANDARDS
ATTENDANCE POLICY
ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENT
Cadets are considered to have left the program if they are absent for more than 30 calendar days without notice (about 4 training nights in a row). In such cases, follow-ups may be made to facilitate retrieval of issued kit, and to process the termination of membership.
TRAINING REQUIREMENT
Every training level has participation requirements. Lower attendance increases the risk of missing these requirements.
A significant part of each training level involves attending 18 periods of instruction in certain specific Performance Objectives (POs). A schedule of lessons being taught each week is available on the 'Weekly Schedule' page, so that cadets can ensure they are catching every required lesson.
The Squadron's 'Calendar' page shows all upcoming activities, so that cadets can plan ahead to attend.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
Attendance figures, among other criteria, may be used to decide participation on non-mandatory trips and activities, as well as eligibility for promotions and awards.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS - ALL TRAINING LEVELS

WHAT IF I DON'T COMPLETE THESE REQUIREMENTS?
Level Progression: Cadets who are missing items from one training level will still be placed in the next level the following year. They will NOT be considered to have completed the previous training level though, and must continue to work towards completion of the previous level during the current training year.
Make-Up Work: Cadets who are missing items from the previous year need to make up those items before completing the current year's items.
Promotions: Most promotions are attached to the cadet's training progression. A cadet cannot be promoted to a rank if they are missing the training requirements for that rank.
Examples of cadets not meeting the qualification standard:
A Level 2 cadet did not complete PO X05 (Participate in a Physical Activity).
The cadet moves on to Level 3.
In Level 3, the first instance of X05 will complete X05 for Level 2.
The second time that the cadet participates in X05, they will satisfy the requirements for Year 3.
The cadet will not meet the requirements for promotion to Flight Corporal until their Level 2 training requirements are satisfied.
A Level 1 cadet only completed 15 periods of elemental training.
The cadet moves on to Level 2.
The first 3 periods of elemental training that they complete will satisfy their 18 periods from the previous training year.
After completion of those periods, the 18 periods for the current training year will begin.
The cadet will not meet the requirements for promotion to Corporal until their Level 1 training requirements are satisfied.
